James J. Baranowski

James J. Baranowski, 60, of Pinckneyville, formerly of Sparta, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2000 at 2:30 p.m. at Washington County Hospital in Nashville.
Mr. Baranowski was employed as a Sparta Printing Bindery Operator for 24 years.  He was a member of GCIU Local.  He was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church at Todds Mill.
He was born August 9, 1939 at Todds Mill, the son of Nettie Baranowski.  He married Shirley Ivendahl in Rice on March 25, 1960 and then later married Cynthia Chism on April 25, 1976 in Chester and she preceded him in death on August 6, 1999.
Surviving are his mother, Nettie Piasecki of Prestenberg, KY; three daughters, Shirl Hagene of Sparta, Josephine Miller of Pinckneyville, Laura Baranowski of St. Genevieve, MO; two sons, David Baranowski of Pinckneyville and Frank J. Baranowski of Perryville, MO; one step-daughter, Crystal Phillips of Elburn, IL; one sister, Julie Maynard of Tamaroa; two brothers, Stanley Piasecki of Prestonburg, KY and Danny Piasecki of Salem Illinois and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia Baranowski and his step-father.
Funeral services were Tuesday, January 11 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Sparta with Father William Rensing officiating.  Interment was in Caledonia Cemetery at Sparta
Visitation was at McDaniel Funeral Home in Sparta on Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 7:30 until 10:30 a.m. then at the church until time of services.  
The Rosary was said Monday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
